Trevor

Trevor is a freelance illustrator and designer living in Cape Town. His main focus lately is on vector-based illustration. Over the years he has honed different styles within this medium: from detailed, photorealistic illustration to simplified “line art” and flat, clean vectors (infographic style).

He’s just as comfortable designing an off-the-wall character as he is a logo. This versatility has landed him some interesting projects, including lead design on the Peter Jackson produced film District 9 when in South Africa.

His work has been published in various design journals and magazines. Over the years he’s won a few Loerie awards for advertising and design agency clients.
Other notable clients have included Smithsonian, National Geographic, Standard Bank, Coca Cola and recently, he illustrated a kids’ book for world champion surfer Shaun Tomson.

Gary

Gary illustrates in pencil and renders his artwork digitally with a unique and stylized crisp edge to his work. His main focus and strength is in character development which is often extended toward animation, comic and cartoon strip creation. 3D illustration & animation, storyboarding and caricature design add to his wide range of abilities.

Gary also does live drawing for corporate presentations and in-house training sessions which creates a more powerful and memorable message compared to the traditional slideshow.

With over 15 years experience in the advertising industry as a graphic designer, art director and now owner of his own agency, Gary has illustrated and animated for local blue chip clients including Bidvest, Sasfin Bank, Steers, Clover, Investment Solutions, Alexander Forbes, Southern Sun, SAA, Deloitte as well as international clients in the USA, United Kingdom and Nigeria.

A passion for illustration and strong work ethic reinforce Gary as a competitive force in his field.

Nick

Nick L’Ange is a Cape-Town based freelance illustrator with an adaptable and flexible style, although his specialty lies in cartoons and comic book style illustration.

He spent his high school years studying fine arts and design at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. Upon matriculating he moved down to Cape Town and enrolled at Michaelis School of Fine Art at UCT, but left to pursue an alternative career in music and sound engineering by studying at City Varsity.

However, the scratchy song of the pencil is forever in his heart, and graphite his bones, digital paint his blood!

Upon completing his sound engineering studies he landed a job at Strika Entertainment, where he worked as a full time illustrator for five years, working on projects for clients such as Caltex-Chevron, MTN, Eskom, SARS and African Bank.

In 2010 he made the move to full-time freelancer, doing jobs for clients such as Heinemann, Maskew-Miller Longman, and Macmillan, as well as a variety of jobs such as storyboarding for TV, and poster design for NGO community uplift projects.

His services include book and magazine illustration, storyboards, designs and layouts, concept art, character design, portraits and caricatures.

However, no stretch of the imagination is too far, and if you name it, Nick L’Ange will draw it for you!
