Craig

I'm a multimedia artist who specializes in illustration, using a graphics tablet and Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to render my paintings.

I've have been painting all my life, and 2008 I decided to move from traditional formats to digital.

In High School I studied art, where I practiced mainly with pencils, acrylics and water colours. In University I took figure drawing classes for 2 years as part of my multimedia studies.

Since then I have freelanced, working on various projects such as 3d animation, 2d book and poster design, as well as a few web projects.

Over the past years I have worked on a few illustration projects for family, friends and small businesses, so I paint not only as a profession but as a hobby too.

I am an illustrator, and have recently completed a one year internship at Am I Collective. While working at Am I collective, I have learnt to paint digitally. Before this I worked almost only by hand and just did my touch ups in Photoshop.

I am a resourceful and imaginative professional with experience ranging from gallery administration to design for advertising.

Nick

Nick L’Ange is a Cape-Town based freelance illustrator with an adaptable and flexible style, although his specialty lies in cartoons and comic book style illustration.

He spent his high school years studying fine arts and design at the National School of the Arts in Johannesburg. Upon matriculating he moved down to Cape Town and enrolled at Michaelis School of Fine Art at UCT, but left to pursue an alternative career in music and sound engineering by studying at City Varsity.

However, the scratchy song of the pencil is forever in his heart, and graphite his bones, digital paint his blood!

Upon completing his sound engineering studies he landed a job at Strika Entertainment, where he worked as a full time illustrator for five years, working on projects for clients such as Caltex-Chevron, MTN, Eskom, SARS and African Bank.

In 2010 he made the move to full-time freelancer, doing jobs for clients such as Heinemann, Maskew-Miller Longman, and Macmillan, as well as a variety of jobs such as storyboarding for TV, and poster design for NGO community uplift projects.

His services include book and magazine illustration, storyboards, designs and layouts, concept art, character design, portraits and caricatures.

However, no stretch of the imagination is too far, and if you name it, Nick L’Ange will draw it for you!

Mary-Anne

Mary-Anne is a freelance illustrator based in Durban. She loves clean line-work and ink, and specialises in the cute and whimsical.

She’s proficient in most of the Adobe suite. She has a degree in Fine Art in New Media from UCT, worked for Ogilvy Johannesburg for a brief few months, and since then has been scribbling happily from home where she owns three well used coffee cups and a variety of pencils.

People generally seem to like her, but they could just be pretending.
