Lynda

I must have got my love of drawing from my grandfather who was a cartoonist. One day when I was small he let me play with his gigantic box of crayons and I was immediately hooked!

After doodling my way through school I studied Fine Art at Wits Tech. While I was there I developed an interest in animation and when I left college I went to London and worked as an apprentice in various animation studios where I picked up my animation skills.

When I returned to South Africa I worked in publishing as a book designer and illustrator and also freelanced as an animator. In 2001 I started working at the Videolab as a 2D and 3D artist and in 2008 I moved to The Refinery. In the almost 20 years I've been working as an animator and illustrator I've really loved that every project I work on is different so I am always developing new styles and upgrading my technical skills.

I've been freelancing for almost two years in which time I've done illustration and animation for advertising, training, and education.
Some clients have been Bladeworks, The Refinery, Maskew Miller Longman and Macmillan.
