My story will sound like any other artist who is passionate about art. It was something I always wanted to do since I was a child. While the other boys played rugby I would bend over my paper with a pencil in my hand.

I am still bent over my art using my Wacom Intuos 5 tablet instead of pencils. I can not stop myself creating pictures!!! It is my drug...

I do most of my art in the digital format, using Photoshop as my main machine for illustrations. For my 3D art I employ Blender to craft some of my more tangible characters and concepts.

I love creating the unknown and unseen. Creating a creature, object or world from scratch must be one of the most rewarding activities out there.

Steven

From the age of a toddler I started drawing and designing cars and to this day have never stopped. I also knew that when I grew up, I would have a career in drawing.

One day in 1979 when I was sketching portraits in Cavendish Square, Brian Searle Tripp approached me and and saw my car sketches and offered me a job to work on the Volkswagen account at Rightfords, Searle Tripp, Makin. And that was my entry into advertising.

Current work includes just completing my first job designing and publishing HeartBeat magazine [S.A. music publication].
I have been with Sparx Media for the last 5 years.

Manu

My name is Emmanuel (Manu) . I was born in the DRC, and left when I was ten to live in Zambia with my father, where I lived for 18 years.

I now live in Johannesburg, South Africa. I can speak close to 7 languages including English and French. When I am not drawing I love socialising, watching or playing soccer and taking long walks.
From my earliest days of drawing, I fell in love with Japanese Anime after watching shows like the Fist of the North Star, Saint Seiya, Ranma and Dragon Ball Z.

Later on I was introduced to the work of Capcom, Walt Disney Animations and Pixar Animation. My work is currently heavily influenced by the styles of Joe Madureira, J Scott Campbell, Randy Green, Skottie Young, Gez Fry, Loopydave and Jeffery ‘Chamba’ Cruz whom are also my favourite artists.

I love all aspects of illustration from doodling, pencilling & inking, lettering and colouring. My tools are 3H pencils, A4 bond paper, scanner, Inkscape and Adobe Photoshop.

I'm always glad to network, offer advice and accept advice or criticism from individuals from all around the planet.

Louise

If you ask me what my most memorable childhood memory is, I would have to answer, children books. Books like 'Cat in the Hat' by Dr Seus and 'My Bruin Beer Bennie'.

I have to confess that I was not one of those children that sat still while my mom read to me, instead I would entertain myself for hours as I studied the bright colours of the drawings. This was where I fell in love with pictures.

Illustration has always been my passion and my creative outlet.
I studied Graphic Design at the Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography, where I recieved my BA in Applied Design.

After completing my studies in 2008, I worked for a small design studio in Paarl, before opening my own studio in March 2011. I decided that my studio would not just specialise in graphic design and web development but also my true passion, illustration.
